Welcome to Déjà Vu

The original purpose of the site was to share family history information and to encourage others to share their findings. In recent years, the site has evolved and expanded to include other interests like sailing and photography.

Interest in the history of Bay St. George families and the Bay St. George area of Newfoundland seems to be at an all time high. Local researchers have contributed significantly by sharing their research while others have contributed by transcribing large amounts of data and making it accessible online. It is very clear that the area has a very rich history.

Although history has always fascinated me, getting to know my ancestors somehow seems to add some clarity to who I am. My great-great-grandfather, George Young/LeJeune was a resident of Bay St. George on the west coast of Newfoundland in the mid-1800's. George was the son of John Young/LeJeune and Catherine Boutillier of Little Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

In January, 2009, I updated my ancestors file, which I hope will provide considerably more insight into the history of my family.

The family research is ongoing and the site will be updated from time to time. Any suggestions on how to improve the site are welcome.

Welcome aboard and enjoy!
